Do you remember how much your second born weighed?

"Six pounds, 10 ounces. Her birth was wild because my first labor was 27 hours long, so I thought it would similar. But when I arrived at the hospital and they checked me, I was already a 7! I was so relieved.”

When you give birth to a baby, you will remember every detail, possibly for the rest of your life. Even grandmothers and great grandmothers remember the details of the day their children were born 50+ years ago. Rarely in any other context will ones life change as much as it does after a woman gives birth for the first time. “It’s a landmark in her personal development. No other event encompasses all these for a woman: pain, emotional stress, unpredictability, and possible physical injury or major surgery. Once completed, she has also undergone a permanent role change that includes responsibility for a dependent, helpless human being. Moreover, all this usually takes place in a single day or less. It’s no wonder women tend to remember birth with deep emotion! And it’s most gratifying when women remember these things with joy, satisfaction and fulfillment.” - Penny Simkin.

This is why I became a doula. The birth of your child is the most life altering day you’ll ever have, and I want to help you feel empowered, supported, respected and safe every step of the way, so when you remember that day, you feel strong and resilient. I support your intuition, your choices for your birth, and hold you in my heart with unconditional high regard.
